Lake Tahoe, CA & NV
Situated in the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe is a top ski destination for downhillers living in California and Nevada. Well known for its blizzards, there are over a dozen major ski areas surrounding the lake: Heavenly Mountain Resort (has the west coast’s longest vertical drop + 97 runs), Kirkwood (deep snowfall + a freestyle park with quarter-pipes, tabletop jumps, a snake jump and a large spine jump) &  Homewood (it’s hard to scoff at $29 lift pass specials).

Snow Summit, CA
SoCal locals love this place because they can surf in the morning and hit the mountain on the same day! Gotta love California!

Mammoth Mountain, CA
Boasting the highest elevation of any ski resort in California, Mammoth lives up to all the hype. The 11,053 ft. elevation makes for dry snow conditions with views west toward the Yosemite high country and east out over the entire Owens Valley. From LA jump on Highway 395 and get ready for a winter paradise
